Vintage Lot of 3 Railroad Model Craftsman Magazines – June, July, August 1987

1987 trio from the classic Railroad Model Craftsman (RMC) series. Packed with prototype studies, modeling projects, plans, and photos – ideal for narrow gauge enthusiasts, Rio Grande Southern (RGS) fans, or collectors of vintage rail modeling mags.

June 1987: Industry study – small town stockyards. Modeling: wood chip car, tunnel motor, country store. Cover: Rio Grande locomotive in scenic setting. Feature: "Mears' Madness" – colorful look at the RGS (Rio Grande Southern) with photos and history.

July 1987: Prototype study: L&NE bridge line. GE U25B drawings. Modeling: company stores dock, kitbashed PFE R-70-2 reefer. Cover: South Pittsburgh – SP boxcar No. 5, track laying basics.

August 1987: A day on the Utah Midland. Special summer issue. Modeling: loco fueling facility. WM TOFC trailers, phase III/IV U25B's. Cover: Southern Pacific #1405 at fueling spot.

Condition: Very Good (VG) overall for age – covers bright and clean with minor edge wear/rubs (typical corner creases, light spine stress), pages intact/readable with no major tears/losses or musty smell. Bindings solid. Great for reference, reading, or adding to a vintage RMC collection.

1987 RMC issues are collectible for their practical content (kitbashing, structures, narrow gauge/RGS features) and historical photos – the "Mears' Madness" RGS piece in June is a standout for Rio Grande fans!
