Description

Beautiful vintage-style Chinese Lin Daiyu display doll dressed in an elaborate traditional costume with vibrant blue, pink, black, green and gold detailing.

The doll features a delicately painted face, styled black hair with decorative floral hair ornaments, layered satin-style clothing, intricate floral embroidery and decorative trim. She is displayed on a rectangular wooden base with a name label identifying the character as Lin Daiyu (???).

A miniature gold-tone flower basket with fabric flowers is positioned beside her feet, adding wonderful detail to the display.

Lin Daiyu is one of the best-known characters from the classic Chinese literary work Dream of the Red Chamber (The Story of the Stone), making this an especially attractive piece for collectors of Chinese cultural dolls, Asian décor and literary-themed collectibles.
