This is a Carolyn Pollack sterling silver ring, likely from early to mid-1990's. Still bearing the CJCo maker's mark, for Carlisle Jewelry Company in New Mexico., this vintage ring represents an ageless design that incorporates broad, ribbon-like swirls across an elongated oval that measures 1" x 1'2", consistent with sizes and shapes that had dominated jewelry for nearly 2 decades. The length of the ring is contoured with the finger, and open scroll work makes the 7.5 size fit as easily as an 8.5. The gently swirling ribbon design spills effortlessly onto solid shoulder panels into a sunken relief. The shoulder designs are accentuated with oxidized silver or black antiquing. Lastly, a fine twisted rope trim lines the outer arcs of the oval, as a subtle symbol of the Southwestern genre associated with Carolyn Pollock jewelry.
