Collage-artist Barry Kite is pretty old school, but his artistic visions are as cutting edge as the Exacto knife he uses to cut out the thousands of quirky and classic images he uses to create his collages. Not one for Photoshop, Kite might re-size images on his laser printer, then hand-embellish them and hand finish each creation. He explains, "I need to cut and paste and even bleed my own work. I am not a 'techie'; I need to feel paper." His studio, Aberrant Art, was named as much because an "A" word would keep him near the top of any list he would be part of, doing numerous exhibits and art shows with lots of other artists vying for attention.
Now in his sixties, Kite continues to create his Aberrant Art, finding huge success with greeting cards, posters, mouse pads, calendars, T-shirts and even jigsaw puzzles. Kite has run with it, and whether you know it or not, you've certainly seen a Kite creation somewhere. Summing up the appeal and edgy nature of his work, Kite says, "I am not copying [an] image to make money. These images are within the collective consciousness and are fair game. My work parodies art to make a point, not to make money. It plays with people's perception of well-known art and makes them think. I manipulate the concept, and on one level, the original art ceases to exist. Anyhow, my biggest protection against a copyright lawsuit is that I have no assets. I wouldn't be able to pay up."

QART ships to the 50 United States via UPS or USPS. As UPS does not ship to them, orders with P.O. Box addresses may be held until a street address is obtained and will be cancelled if a street address cannot be obtained within a reasonable time. QART reserves between 3 - 8 business days for an order to ship from our Los Angeles based warehouse. Once approved, customer service will provide you with your RMA number and return instructions. To expedite your return, please print the RMA number on the outside of the return packaging.
