2015-D Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential $1 Coin Gem Uncirculated

This 2015-D Presidential Dollar honors Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States. The coin was struck at the Denver Mint and is presented in a CoinHub holder as Gem Uncirculated.

Eisenhower served as President from 1953 to 1961, but his importance in American history began well before his presidency. During World War II, he served as Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe and oversaw the Allied invasion of Normandy on D-Day in 1944. He later became a five-star General of the Army and served as NATO's first Supreme Allied Commander Europe before becoming President.

The Presidential $1 Coin Program began in 2007 and honored deceased U.S. Presidents in the order they served. Eisenhower's dollar was released in 2015 alongside coins honoring Presidents Harry S. Truman, John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson.

The obverse features a portrait of Dwight D. Eisenhower with inscriptions identifying him as the 34th President and his presidential years, 1953 to 1961.

The reverse features the Statue of Liberty, a design shared throughout the Presidential Dollar series.
