2007-D James Madison Presidential Dollar NGC MS65 First Day of Issue

This 2007-D James Madison Presidential Dollar was struck at the Denver Mint and has been certified by NGC as MS65 with the First Day of Issue designation.

James Madison was the fourth President of the United States, serving from 1809 to 1817. He played a major role in drafting the U.S. Constitution and is often called the "Father of the Constitution." Madison also helped write the Federalist Papers and later led the country during the War of 1812.

The Presidential Dollar series began in 2007 and honored the nation's presidents in the order they served. James Madison was the fourth president honored in the program, following George Washington, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson.

Unlike most traditional U.S. coins, Presidential Dollars from this period feature important inscriptions on the edge of the coin, including the date, mint mark, "E Pluribus Unum," and "In God We Trust."
