The Design

The infinity symbol resembles the number 8 laid on its side, and in the round’s obverse design, it was featured as a snake eating its tail, representing the start and the end at the same point.

Besides “INFINITY” inscribed on top and “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” on the bottom, the initials “QE” stand for Quantitative Easing, which is an unconventional monetary policy central banks use to stimulate the national economy.

The reverse design displays the all-seeing eye atop a pyramid, a pattern element to the series design.

There are several inscriptions on this side besides the round’s essential hallmarks.

The series name “THE AWAKENING” arches over the pyramid. 

A sequence of letters beneath the image represents “1776” in Roman numbers when the US declared independence from Great Britain.

The banner “ANNUIT COEPTIS” is the same one found on the American Seal, meaning “God has favored our undertakings.”

Lastly, the inscription “YOU CAN’T WAKE A PERSON WHO IS PRETENDING TO BE ASLEEP” surrounds the bottom rim.
