Just prior to establishing the brand however, Maurice Eberle was granted Swiss patent No. 77565 and 77578 for his creations in horology. The 1st patent covered a fastening device using greased friction for a wheel of the wheel train on the cover of a mainspring barrel in a mechanical movement. The second was granted for a specific closure to wristwatch bracelets, as this was the time that we were seeing the evolution of pocketwatches to wrist-worn watches.
