Description

INCREDIBLY EASY TO GERMINATE - ALONG WITH Orchid Phalaenopsis THESE ARE THE EASIEST EXOTIC PLANT OR FLOWER SEEDS YOU WILL EVER GROW

Origin & History
Orchids are amongst the most beautiful flowers of the entire plant kingdom, combining exotic looks with a diverse set of characteristics. Orchids are exquisite plants, compromising over many different species and a lot hybrid varieties--making orchids the largest family of plants in the world. Capable of growing indoors and outdoors, orchids are no doubt unique.
Phalaenopsis is known as the "moth orchid" and is extremely popular among beginning growers.

Phalaenopsis (moth orchids) grow well in centrally heated rooms and have long-lasting flowers produced all year round. They are one of the most popular indoor orchids.

How to Grow Orchids From Seeds

1.Make a fine potting mix, suitable for slipper orchids, most oncidiums, miltonias, and orchids with small roots that enjoy moisture more than most:
4 parts fine (grain) fir bark or fine (grain) coco husk
1 part fine (grain) charcoal
1 part perlite

2.Choose a smaller pot to place your orchid seeds in, making sure that there are plenty of holes in the pot itself for drainage.

3.Make sure your hands and your environment are sterile. Scatter just a few seeds beneath the surface of each pot. Germination time is from 2 weeks up to 2 months - be patient.

4.Pot your orchid. Remove the orchid from its original pot, making sure to cut off any dead or rotting roots. Divide the root matter into several different sections, if needed, before placing the plant in its pot. Lightly add the potting mix, barely covering the root system.

Moth Orchid Growing Guide:

Water: You're actually more likely to kill a moth orchid (Phalaenopsis sp. and its hybrids) by overwatering than by underwatering. Orchids are often planted in bark or sphagnum moss, and either material must be allowed to dry out between waterings. (Bark holds less water than moss, so orchids planted in it should be watered more often.) When the bark or moss is dry to the touch and the pot is lighter, water your orchid thoroughly (until water comes through the drainage hole in the bottom of your pot). Never leave orchid roots in standing water. Note: Miniature moth orchids, relatively new on the market, are grown in smaller pots and can dry out faster.

Light: Orchids like bright, indirect light. An east-facing window is best; western or southern light is fine as long as it's indirect. North-facing windows generally won't provide enough light.

Temperature: Normal home temperatures are good—about 70 to 80 degrees in the daytime and above 60 degrees at night.

Fertilizer: Ask your local nursery for an orchid fertilizer, and apply it according to package instructions.

Reblooming: Once an orchid has stopped flowering, you can cut off the bloom spike at the base of the plant. Keep fertilizing. Leave the pot in bright, indirect light. Your orchid should rebloom within a year.

Repotting: You may want to repot your orchid every few years. Do this when it's not blooming, because repotting can stress an orchid and cause it to drop its blooms.

Flower seeds are a live organism. Their germination depends on many factor including heat, cooling, sun, shade, moisture, time of sowing, etc. None of these things I can control so I can not be held responsible for them. I promise to provide fresh viable seeds as I always have and the rest is up to you :)
